Hyde Midtown Miami

Midtown, Miami, FL4 out of 5 starsBoutique Hotel

This weekend I headed down to Miami, Florida for a quick business trip, and I checked into the Hyde Midtown - a boutique hotel tucked right in the center of everything. If you're looking for a stylish base that puts you within arm's reach of Miami's best dining, shopping, and nightlife without the chaos of South Beach, this is it.

Location That Can't Be Beat

The Hyde sits right in the heart of Midtown Miami, and the location alone makes it worth considering. Step outside the front door and you're surrounded by easily 30 or more restaurants - everything from casual Cuban spots to upscale sushi. While the hotel itself doesn't have an on-site restaurant, it honestly doesn't need one. The neighborhood is your dining room, and it's a good one.

For business travelers, Midtown is well-positioned between Downtown, Wynwood, and the Design District. Whether your meetings are in Brickell or you need to get to the convention center, you're never far from where you need to be. Rideshares are quick and plentiful from this area.

A Look Inside

The Room

The room itself was beautiful - modern design with clean lines, quality materials, and thoughtful touches throughout. The king bed was incredibly comfortable after a long day of travel, and the blackout curtains actually worked (a detail that matters more than people realize when you're trying to recover from an early flight).

What really stood out was the in-room kitchenette. It comes equipped with an espresso machine, a small sink, and bar-height seating - perfect for a quick morning coffee before heading out or a late-night snack after dinner. The living area had a comfortable couch and a large flat-screen TV, making it feel more like a studio apartment than a standard hotel room.

The bathroom was spacious and well-appointed with dual vessel sinks, a walk-in rain shower, and quality toiletries. Everything felt clean, modern, and well-maintained - exactly what you want after a day of meetings.

Business-Ready Amenities

The business center was well-equipped and actually usable - not just a dusty corner with a printer like some hotels. If you need to print documents, take a call in a quiet space, or just get some focused work done outside your room, it's a solid option.

The pool area deserves a special mention. After a long day of meetings, being able to unwind by a beautiful pool with Miami's skyline in the background is exactly the kind of reset you need on a business trip. It's not a party pool - it's relaxed and well-maintained, which is exactly what I was looking for.

The Verdict

The Hyde Midtown Miami is a strong pick for business travelers who want something with more personality than a standard chain hotel. The boutique feel, central location, and quality amenities make it easy to recommend. You're trading an on-site restaurant for access to one of Miami's best dining neighborhoods - and honestly, that's a trade I'd make every time.

I'd absolutely stay here again on my next Miami trip. Four stars - it does what it does really well, and the location alone puts it ahead of most options in the area.
